Evan Jones

Director of Quality Engineering

Evan leads Think Tank QA’s automated testing program, leveraging more than 15 years of experience to develop processes and systems that automate QA testing at scale.

Where many companies consider automation an afterthought, Evan works with Think Tank QA clients to implement automation procedures upfront – often before coding begins – to accelerate development and identify issues before they affect end users.

Evan’s vast experience in QA, IT, DevOps, software, and game development grant insights into the entire software development lifecycle, enabling him to understand client goals and identify how and when automation can help achieve them.

Prior to joining Think Tank QA, Evan honed his skills at some of the most recognizable businesses in the industry. As a contract developer and automated domain lead for The Nerdery, he worked with high-profile clients such as Google, Hy-Vee, Medtronic, and Gavin de Becker and Associates. He spearheaded the effort to bring digital and performance testing in-house for the nonprofit FastBridge Learning, where he developed an automation suite that simulated over 100,000 users on a standardized testing platform deployed in public schools nationwide. Early in his career, Evan served as a game tester for Destineer Publishing Microsoft on the Microsoft Live Xbox 360 Breach project.

Evan holds a BS in Video Game Design and Development from Brown College. When he’s not developing automated QA testing systems for Think Tank QA clients, he enjoys hosting survival RPG games, playing disc golf, and horseback riding. He’s also an avid scuba diver, having completed over 62 dives in Hawaii, Minnesota, and Mexico, where he navigated the infamous Devil’s Throat in Cozumel.
